Project Wrap Up in Adelaide

Jun 30, 2023 | Pawa Atunmankunytjaku

The Pawa Atunmankunytjaku team headed to Adelaide on Tuesday 27 June to present on everything we had learnt over the past three years.

We were lucky to be joined by Dora, Denise and Irene who had made their own way from Yalata community to Adelaide.

We attended a meeting of people across the SA Government which was organized by the Department for Energy & Mining.  There were about 10 people in the room and 25 online.
We presented to the audience the successes and lessons from the Pawa Atunmanykuntjaku program.
The EEWs from Yalata spoke about their experience and how they can now support their community with power issues. Melissa from Uniting Communities presented on the EEW training.
It was a great way to end the project. A big thank you to everyone involved.
On-ground support from MoneyMob will continue across the APY Lands with Tia Paterson-Dunn in the Home Energy Support Worker role.

Money Mob recently partnered with the Central Desert Regional Council (CDRC) to deliver information sessions to aged care residents in Atitjere, Ti Tree, Wilora, Willowra, Laramba, Yuelamu and Lajamanu.

Alongside the residents, staff and carers had a chance to learn skills in financial literacy, saving goals, debt, financial abuse, humbug and making informed decisions when spending.

We provide practical financial literacy training services for individuals to gain confidence and competence in essential financial life skills.
