On the 8th of August 2022, the team visited Pipalyatjara for the week to support the community with the introduction of power charging. This was a long drive – 716 KM to be exact!

Energy Education Worker Petria worked with us all week and she really excelled in her role. Please check Petria out in the above photo, being the master chef at the BBQ we provided to the community on Thursday.

As with Pukatja and Mimili, we visited every house in the community to drop off the meter cards, welcome pack and explain the changes taking place. We also collected contact details on the iPad to pass on to Cowell Electric.

We then set up a stall outside the shop for the rest of the week to help Anangu top up and answer any questions.

The team had to drive from our accommodation in Wingellina, WA every day. One day we were a few minutes late picking Petria up for work in Pipalyatjara. Boy did I get a talking to from Petria for being late to work! We were never late picking her up after that!

Overall, the week went well in Pipalyatjara and we headed off to Amata the following week.
