Power charging started in Pukatja on Tuesday 12 July 2022. The team spent the whole week in Pukatja supporting the community through the change. We had a team of Energy Education Workers who worked over the week. This was a big week and we are very grateful for all their hard work.

On Monday, we visited each house to deliver the meter cards and stick some information in the smart meter box on the side of the house. Each household received their own pack which included a tote bag containing: magnets, stickers, information booklets and two smart meter cards on two individual lanyards with a extra card containing contact details.

When power charging commenced on Tuesday, we set up s stall at the local shop to assist Anangu in topping up their power and reconnecting their meter. We also made sure Anangu understood the process of their money being paid at the shop and the credit going on to their smart meter. Finally, we assisted Anangu with any other concerns relating to paying for power or how to use their new smart meter.

On Tuesday, we also provided a community barbecue which everyone enjoyed. Energy Education Workers Jasmin and Janelle were in charge of cooking!

By Friday, most households understood how to use their cards and the smart meter. Throughout the week we also collected contact details so that Cowell Electric is able to get in touch with Anangu if there are any issues.

Overall, it was a busy but successful week for the Pawa Team!
