Employee Name: Michelle Mitakiki

Community: Amata

Role Within the MoneyMob: Energy Education Worker

How long have you been with the Pawa Atunmankunytjaku team?

Since June 2021

What does your job entail?

Teaching community members about the paid power project that is coming in July 2022. My favourite part of the job is completing the survey regarding how much people know about the paid power coming in and what they know about what uses and doesn’t use a lot of electricity in their homes.

Who and what inspired you to join the Pawa Atunmankunytjaku team?

A saw the job poster at the shop and applied for the role and obviously I got it.

Where do you see yourself in 6 months time?

At home resting as I am going to have another baby.

What’s the best advice you can give to someone who just started working in the Pawa Atunmankunytjaku team?

Not to be shy and just be out there with a bit of confidence.

What’s the most exciting thing you are working on right now or have completed?

I have two jobs at present and they are both working well with each other. My bosses are really good and communicate with one another over my work schedule.

What is the toughest challenge you have had so far in your role:

l almost completed the survey and the person wanted to leave to go to the shop with other family members. I was able to encourage the person to finish the short survey.  The up and coming challenging could be educating the children in the community about the program but I know I will be fully trained before that occurs.

How would you describe your job to other people?

It’s good not to be pushy with community members over this program.

What was your first job?

An administration role at Yulara through the Voyages Program.

What is your secret talent?

I do not have one.

What motivates you?

My children but also knowing that i now have two jobs, so that is my biggest motivation now.
