Community Engagement – APY Lands

Dec 13, 2020 | Pawa Atunmankunytjaku

Throughout October and November, the Pawa Atunmankunytjaku and Remote Area Energy Supply (RAES) teams made our first trips out to the APY Lands to complete the first round of community engagement. This involved a presentation to the Community Councils and a BBQ in each community. We listened to community concerns and provided feedback to their questions.

Council meetings and community BBQ’s were held in Amata, Pipalyatjara, Kanpi and Indulkana
Community meetings and BBQ’s were held in Pukatja and Mimili
Kalka, Nyapari, and Fregon meetings were cancelled. We are hoping to engage with them in March 2021.

Money Mob recently partnered with the Central Desert Regional Council (CDRC) to deliver information sessions to aged care residents in Atitjere, Ti Tree, Wilora, Willowra, Laramba, Yuelamu and Lajamanu.

Alongside the residents, staff and carers had a chance to learn skills in financial literacy, saving goals, debt, financial abuse, humbug and making informed decisions when spending.

We provide practical financial literacy training services for individuals to gain confidence and competence in essential financial life skills.
