Who are we ?
MoneyMob Talkabout is a not-for-profit organisation with a vision to empower Aboriginal people and communities to achieve economic wellbeing and self-determination. We operate a money support hub in the APY Lands, with a permanant base at Pukatja, which provides a one-stop shop for local community members to interact with the broader economy in a safe and supportive environment. We regularly outreach to all communities across the APY Lands, as well as Oodnadatta.
Carolyn Cartwright has eleven years experience in the community and public sector in not-for-profit, local government and consulting roles. She has a Masters Degree in Social Science (Policy and Human Services) from RMIT in Melbourne, and is passionate about creating genuine, meaningful opportunities for stakeholder participation in projects.
William is a Gudjal, Waanyi and Yuri man from North QLD, who has had 25 plus years- experience working in the Community and Public sector. William started working as a Financial Counsellor in 2012 after working for Aboriginal Legal Service for many years in QLD. William has a Diploma in Financial counselling, Management and an Associate Diploma in Business admin and a Certificate 4 in Training and assessment. William likes helping disadvantaged people and has previously worked for Save the children for 5 years in the Gulf of Carpentaria, he also worked at Muru Mittigar Aboriginal Cultural & Education Centre in Penrith before moving to Alice Springs to work as a Financial Counsellor for MoneyMob.
Kylie has been working with MoneyMob since 2013. Prior to this, she has held project officer roles in the public service.
She has a Diploma of Project Management and certificates in Non-Profit Risk management, regulatory compliance, and financial management.
David is now leading the 'Loans and Phones Project - Phase 2' with MoneyMob Talkabout. David's background is in social services, employment, and advocacy, having previously worked in the Disability Employment Services sphere along with several other not-for-profit organisations in both Sydney and Alice Springs. He studied a Bachelor of History and a current Masters of International Relations.
Background in welfare and health. Studied Community Development. Moved to Alice Springs for the job. Passionate about equality. Love the Australian Desert
Trevor has a background in Banking, Community Development, Community Recreation, Youth Justice, Youth Work and Child Protection. Trevor has previously worked in Alice Springs and at Ntaria, and with the communities at Ti Tree, Titjikala, Willowra, Engawala, Neutral Junction and Laramba.
Dave brings over 20 years experience of youth work and community sector experience to this position. Dave has been living in Pukatja with his wife since early 2014 and immensely enjoys working with the MoneyMob team in an amazing community. When not in Central Australia, Dave’s other interest include spending time by the sea and kayaking.
