Following the training session in Yulara, house to house energy education visits have commenced in the communities that are paying for power.
Our team of Energy Education Workers have been talking to households about how to save power while staying comfortable in their homes. Workers have been showing people the things in their house that use a lot of power. They also check that the fridge settings are correct. At the end of the visit, households receive a thermometer, a 4 minute shower timer and a set of fridge magnets with energy saving tips.
The majority of residents have mastered the art of topping up themselves at the shop or online. Many are also choosing to set up a Centrepay deduction. Centrepay is a great way for a household to chip in and share the cost of their electricity instead of one person paying for the total cost.
